Busiest night for Bollywood!

what is common to the superhit films like dil to pagal hai and kuch kuch hota hai? The superstitious belief that whatever we wish when seeing a meteor( tootha thara) comes true. This has been used in so many bollywood movies that calling it a cliche would also be cliche!!. There will be a lot of  shooting stars this weekend which should keep our bollywood script writers awake  for a long time!!

The annual Perseid meteor shower is expected to be at its best this year, producing one or two meteors per minute during peak hours.

"It's going to be a great show," said Bill Cooke of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama. Look at this video !

Also follow these tips to have a great viewing of the meteorites, and do keep a wish-list handy!

here are some observing tips

Observing tips

To see the show, one need only find a comfortable spot with a clear view of the northeast horizon, away from local lights. A dark rural location is best. Lie back on a blanket or lounge chair and scan the entire sky. In the late evening, starting around 9 p.m. local time, sharp-eyed observers might see "earthgrazing" meteors that skim the northeast horizon.

Earthgrazers are long, slow and colorful.  They are among the most beautiful of meteors.  But don't expect more than a handful in an hour.

Later and during the overnight hours, the shooting stars will be higher in the sky as Perseus rises. Some skywatchers enjoy counting the number of meteors they see per minute, per hour or during a 15-minute interval and comparing notes.

Telescopes and binoculars are no help, as the meteors move too swiftly and are best observed with the naked eye. enjoy!!

Honeymoon on the moon!

Galactic Suite", is set to become the first hotel planned in space. It is  expected to open for business in 2012 and would allow guests to travel around the world in 80 minutes.!!

Go here to get the full details

IBarcelona-based architects say the space hotel will be the most expensive in the galaxy, costing $4 million (1.98 million pounds) for a three-day stay.During that time guests would see the sun rise 15 times a day and use Velcro suits to crawl around their pod rooms by sticking themselves to the walls like Spiderman.

Company director Xavier Claramunt says the three-bedroom boutique hotel's joined up pod structure, which makes it look like a model of molecules, was dictated by the fact that each pod room had to fit inside a rocket to be taken into space. An American company intent on colonising Mars, which sees Galaxy Suite as a first step, has since come on board, and private investors from Japan, the United States and the United Arab Emirates are in talks.

If Claramunt is secretive about the identity of his generous backer, he is more forthcoming about the customer he can expect."We have calculated that there are 40,000 people in the world who could afford to stay at the hotel. Whether they will want to spend money on going into space, we just don't know."

Sreesanth beamer to kevin peitersen

The second test had a lot of drama and emotion, eventhough it will be remembered as the jelly bean test, I think the beamer by sreesanth to KP was also up there in terms of the drama. Mike Artherton has infact called for a ban on sreesanth for the nasty delivery,( he has been fined 50 % of his match fee but that was for a seperate incident). watch the beamer video below, watch the third test live here and watch sreesanths another famous antic here.
